Two car smash leads to heavy delays on busy Dublin road

Traffic was brought to a standstill after two cars ploughed into each other on a busy Dublin road tonight.

Emergency services are at the scene of a crash on the R139 (formerly known as the N32) this evening. A witness told Dublin Live one of the cars looked like it was "taken out of the scrap yard" due to the impact of the collision.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles that occurred on the N32. No serious injuries have been reported at this time.

"Diversions remain in place at this time."

Traffic was heavy earlier this evening after protesters descended upon Dublin. Demonstrations took place in East Wall, Ballymun, Finglas, Ballyfermot, Drimnagh, Clondalkin, and Crumlin today leading to a number of roads being closed.
