Two-car crash causes lengthy delays for drivers in east of Edinburgh

A crash between two cars in Joppa has caused lengthy delays for drivers in the east of Edinburgh.

It took place at the Eastfield junction of the A199 on Tuesday morning, causing queues to form on Milton Road East and Musselburgh Road.

The road was closed in both directions from 11am as emergency services directed traffic around the crashed vehicles.

No-one is thought to have been seriously injured in the incident.

Dawn Lancaster tweeted : "Bad RTA on way in to Musselburgh from Joppa think the road may be closed shortly!"

The following Lothian Buses routes have been diverted: 26, 45, 124.
