A DRIVER had a lucky escape after a two-car collision saw a vehicle end up in a stormwater drain at Hamilton South.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Smith Street and Jenner Parade just after 8am on Tuesday to reports of a multi-vehicle accident.

On arrival at the scene they found two cars had been involved in the crash, one which had careened off the road and into a nearby drain. The vehicle ended up wedged between a foot bridge and the roadway.

One of the drivers, a woman in her 30s, suffered minor injuries in the crash. She was treated by paramedics at the scene for head, arm and back pain.

Paramedics also looked over a second patient, a teenager, but he suffered no injuries in the crash.

NSW Fire and Rescue, police and paramedics remained on scene for several hours. The vehicle was expected to be removed using a tow-truck. Road closures will take place throughout the day.
