A two-car collision in Fyshwick caused traffic chaos for commuters on Thursday morning.

The collision happened on Canberra Avenue underneath the Monaro Highway Bridge just after 7.30am.

No injuries were reported and no one was taken to hospital.

The incident forced the closure of one westbound lane on Canberra Avenue.

The road closure has led to mass traffic delays for drivers across parts of Canberra.

Canberra Avenue has been affected by the incident, along with nearby Hindmarsh Drive, the Monaro Highway and the Majura Parkway.

Emergency authorities have warned drivers to avoid the area.

One westbound lane of Canberra Avenue was closed due to the collision.
