Two Camp Lejeune Marines killed in Iraq, military says

RALEIGH, N.C. _ Two military members killed in Iraq this week were based at Camp Lejeune, N.C., officials say.

"Both Marines were assigned to 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command" at the North Carolina installation, the U.S. Department of Defense said Tuesday in a news release.

The U.S. Marines Corps members died in Iraq on Sunday, the release said.

Officials identified them as Sgt. Diego D. Pongo and Capt. Moises A. Navas. The Marines were both 34 years old, according to the military.
