Two brothers have been jailed after they kept their mother and sister as slaves.
Faisal Hussein, 25, and Arbaaz Ahmed, 19, only gave their closest relatives £1 a month to spend on sanitary products and told them they were not allowed to use the taps in the house in Bradford.
The brothers gave their mother and sister a bucket of water to wash themselves with during the 18-month period of abuse.
Hussein and Ahmed also admitted to assaulting their sister Ruhee Hussein, 30, using a belt buckle, a wooden spoon and a shoe.
Ms Hussein was kicked and punched to the floor and then thrown out the house - where she was spotted by member of the public who contacted the police.
"It culminated in a violent assault upon your own sister which is almost unimaginable to any decent human being,” Judge Jonathan Rose said, according to the Daily Mail.
Nick Worsley, Ahmed’s barrister, said the teenager witnessed similar behaviour from his father, which may have led to him believing it was acceptable.
Both Hussein and Ahmed said they were ashamed and said sorry for what happened.
They admitted to using controlling and coercive behaviour on their sister and mother, Nasara Hussein, 53, between 1 January 2016 and 16 May 2017.
Hussein was jailed for 32 months and Ahmed received the same sentence but in youth custody.
The pair have also been given five-year restraining orders, preventing them from contacting their mother and sister.
