Two teenage boys have been seriously hurt in an off-road bike crash.

They were injured in a collision at the junction of Surbiton Road and Crawford Road in Newton Heath on Saturday night.

The emergency services were called to the scene at 6.05pm to reports that two off-road bikes had crashed.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were scrambled to the scene and police closed the junction.

Residents have told the M.E.N. they saw one of two injured boys being treated at the scene.

The pair were taken to hospital although it was not immediately clear whether they were taken away by air or road ambulance.
