Two boys arrested after 14-year-old girl found beaten to death in abandoned farm house

Two boys have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 14-year-old girl in Dublin. 

Anastasia Kriegel was found dead in an abandoned farmhouse in Luncan after she had been missing for three days. 

A post mortem showed that she had died from a trauma to the head after being subjected to a vicious assault.

The two youths, who are both believed to be 13, were detained on 24 May and remained in custody in separate police stations.

Arrangements have been made to allow their parents to stay with them and they can be questioned for 24 hours. 

In an official statement, A Garda spokesman said: "Gardaí can confirm that two juvenile males arrested yesterday 23 May as part of the investigation into the murder of Anastasia Kriegel remain in custody.

"They are being held at two separate Dublin Garda Station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984."

Ms Kriegel was a student at Confey secondary school, a co-ed Community College in Leixlip, County Kildare.
