Two bits of good news for England fans: first, it's absolutely pelting down in Cologne right now - it has been all day - and it feels at least seven or eight degrees colder than in recent days.
Second, Wayne Rooney is absolutely flying in training, albeit only during a game of keep-ball. In the space of a minute, he's just hurled himself two-footed at Sammy Lee's ankles before aquaplaning along the turf, studs first, to take the ball off Stewart Downing, who looked very scared indeed.
Everyone in the press area still expects Sven-Goran Eriksson to start with a midfield diamond tomorrow against Sweden, with Owen Hargreaves as the holding midfielder and Frank Lampard drifting between the two strikers. We may find out more at England's press conference, which is due in the next 30 minutes or so.
