Two-bed house goes on the market with starting price of £20k but it needs serious help

A two-bed house is to be auctioned off with a guide price of £20,000 - but it needs a lot of work doing to it.

The end of terrace property, located in Derbyshire, is definitely a fixer-upper and isn’t one for someone who isn’t afraid to get stuck in.

Sadly, the home has been left in a state of disrepair, with images showing how the walls and floors have been stripped bare.

In some pictures, you can see wallpaper still on the floor from where it has been ripped down, and bare floorboards are visible in some rooms.

The kitchen also doesn’t appear to be usable in its current state, with appliances pulled out and half of the cabinets missing.

In the bathroom, the bath is coming off the wall and the toilet looks to be in a sorry state.

The outside area needs completely redoing too, as it’s currently overflowing with rubbish and the fences are coming down.

However, it isn't clear if this is the garden or round the side of the property.

The building itself consists of two bedrooms, one reception room, a kitchen, downstairs family bathroom and a rear garden.

Estate agents Royal Estates will be auctioning off the property online on May 25, and the listing says it is a freehold property.

This means the winning buyer will also own the land it has been built on.

Keep in mind the £20,000 figure is the guide price, so it is likely to go up if there are a lot of people bidding.

This also isn't the reserve price - the lowest amount the seller is willing to let it go for - although Royal Estates says this figure is within 10% of the guide price.

This means the reserve price is likely to be between £18,000 to £22,000.

If you're the winning bidder, you'll also need to pay a 10% deposit or a minimum of £10,000.

The overall price wouldn't include any other legal fees as well.

The Mirror recently rounded up five homes you can buy with a starting price of £10,000 or less.
