Two bargain Wirral homes go on sale for £10k each - and they're right next to each other

Two homes next door to each other are to be sold at auction with a guide price of £10,000 each.

The bargain houses are both two beds semi-detached on Old Bidston Road in Birkenhead, Wirral, and are ideal for anyone wanting to get stuck into a property project.

They are to be sold at Bond Wolfe's next auction on Wednesday, July 21 and each property is subject to a reserve price which may be different from the guide price.

The pair of homes stand flush to the pavement with rear yards, although both are currently boarded up and will need complete refurbishment.

Bond Wolfe said buyers with a knack for DIY who succeed in buying both lots in the live-streamed auction could be able to save money by modernising their next-door investments at the same time.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe, said: "It’s quite rare to have such reasonably priced properties available that are next to each other.

"Each property has a traditional layout with reception room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, and a landing and two bedrooms upstairs.

"Yes, they both need some tender love, care and attention, but they will potentially make decent homes for first-time buyers or for buy-to-let investors."

Other bargains in the auction include a three-bedroomed, end-terraced house at 9 Cromdale Grove in St Helens, which has a guide price of just £15,000+.

This property is also currently boarded up and so needs some work, but it comes with central heating and double glazing inside, front and back gardens and parking for residents outside.

Also in St Helens, and needing renovation, is a two-bedroomed, end-terraced house with front and back gardens at 32 Waterdale Crescent, which has a guide price of £20,000+.

Over in Bootle there is a four-bedroomed mid-terraced property in need of refurbishment at 72 Hawthorne Road, with a guide price of £20,000+.

It has two rooms that were previously used as a hairdressers downstairs, two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and another two bedrooms on the second floor.

Meanwhile, a two-bedroomed, mid-terraced house with a front garden and rear yard at 38 Percy Street in Bootle and a guide price of £20,000+ will also be up for auction.

The Merseyside homes are just a few of a record-breaking 247 lots listed in Bond Wolfe’s next auction which starts at 8.30am on Wednesday, July 21.

The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only, and bidders must pre-register no later than 12 noon on Tuesday, July 20.
