Arsenal were dealt a second defeat in the space of a week as they were undone by Aston Villa.
Ollie Watkins scored within the opening two minutes after a mix-up in the Gunners defence.
Cedric Soares sold a pass short to Gabriel which allowed Bertrand Traore to pounce and set up his team-mate.
The visitors couldn't recover from the early setback with Alexandre Lacazette unable to produce in the final third.
He led the Arsenal line although Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang did return to the fold as a second-half substitute.
Martin Odegaard and Willian were also called upon as Mikel Arteta sought an equaliser at Villa Park.
It wasn't to be however as Arsenal slipped to their tenth Premier League defeat of the season.
