Two arrests have been made on Newcastle's Quayside after police used a helicopter to track the movements of a vehicle of interest.
On Thursday afternoon, police were alerted to the vehicle's movements heading on the A694 towards Blaydon. With the support of the police helicopter, the car was tracked and brought to a stop outside the law courts.
Two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and they remain in police custody.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “At about 1.30pm today (Thursday) officers were alerted to the movement of a vehicle of interest heading on the A694 towards Blaydon.
“Officers with the support of the National Police Air Service (NPAS) tracked the car’s movements and brought it to a stop outside the law courts on the Quayside in Newcastle.
“Two occupants inside the vehicle have been arrested and remain in police custody at this time. Officers would like to thank the public for their cooperation while the incident was brought to a swift and safe resolution.”
