Two arrests and tents raided at Rewind festival in Perthshire

Two men were arrested and a number of tents had items stolen from them at this year’s Rewind.

Thousands of music fans descended on Scone Palace over the weekend for the annual ‘80s music festival.

Some of the top acts from this year’s event included Bryan Ferry, Foreigner, The Stranglers, Lulu and Midge Ure.

Police praised the behaviour of the crowd, but did confirm there had been some incidents over the weekend.

Inspector Kevin Chase from Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Rewind attracted nearly 30,000 people in total over the weekend and I am pleased to report that the festival was a success with only two minor incidents of disorder which led to two men being arrested.

“Unfortunately there were some thefts from tents on Friday evening that have been reported to Police Scotland and if anybody has any information in respect of these please contact 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers.”

Last year, 13 tents had mobile phones and quantities of cash stolen from within.

Pete Wishart MP, who attended the event, said: “It is really concerning that people are having their possessions taken at a festival when everyone is there to enjoy themselves and appreciate the music.

“When I was there, there were lots of police officers in attendance which went a great way to reassuring people who were there.”
