Two arrested over Bluebell man found dead at house in 'suspicious' circumstances

Two men have been charged in connection with the "suspicious" death of Alan Hall in Bluebell.

The 44-year-old dad, originally from Coolock, was found in what Gardai described at the time as "unexplained" circumstances in a house on Bluebell Avenue on May 18 last year.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a fire in the house and tragically found Alan after the flames were extinguished.

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Two men have been arrested in relation to the investigation into the death of a man at a house on Bluebell Avenue, Dublin 12, Monday 18th May 2020.

"Both men have been charged and are scheduled to appear before Blanchardstown District Court."

Alan, who worked as a butcher, was described as a "lovely, quiet lad" who was known to help out in the community.

One group who knew him well were 'A Lending Hand' a service for homeless and struggling people who described Alan as a "gentleman".

A spokeswoman for the group told Dublin Live: "He wouldn't harm a fly. He loved a chat and a laugh, and was a very proud man. We are just heartbroken."

"Alan was one of the nicest, soundest blokes you could meet. No human deserves to die the way he did.

"He would always make us laugh at the table, loved a chat and a slagging match because we all hailed from Coolock.

She added: "There is a massive hole in our hearts Alan. We hope you get the best bed in heaven and hope you're at peace. Goodnight buddy, we will miss you."
