Detectives say the arrests came following a number of overnight raids.

The victim's injuries were not life-threatening and he was later discharged from hospital.

A stretch of Littleton Road road remained taped off between Gargrave Street and Whitewater Drive on Wednesday morning.

Silsden Walk, an alleyway just off Littleton Road, was also sealed off by police while a number of shops and businesses within the cordon were unable to open.

Following the shooting, residents living near to the scene said they feared their area was 'getting worse'.

One resident, who asked not to be named, said: “There’s been a lot of police activity around here recently.

“It’s frightening. I've lived here for 20 years and it's getting worse.

"Things like this seem to be happening quite a lot lately."

Another local was left terrified after hearing the shots ring out.
