Two arrested following horror double shooting in Killeek Lane, north Dublin

Two men have been arrested following the horror double shooting of two men near Dublin Airport.

The incident happened early on Friday afternoon in an industrial estate on Killeek Lane in St Margaret's, a rural townland between Swords and Ballymun.

One of the men was shot five times while the other was blasted in the back. Both are believed to be in critical condition.

The scene of the shooting is just 10 minutes from Dublin Airport and is home to several businesses.

A burnt out car was found shortly afterwards in the Ayrfield area of Coolock. It's understood that the arrested men were picked up nearby.

A garda statement released this afternoon said: "Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 11.30am on Friday 17th January 2020 at Killeek Lane, St Margaret's, Swords, County Dublin.

"Two males received treatment at the scene before being transferred to Beaumount and Connolly Memorial Hospital.

"Two males have been arrested under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939."
