Two arrested as over €130,000 of illegal drugs seized in Dublin

Two people were arrested after a whopping €133,000 worth of illegal drugs were found in Dublin today.

Gardai and Revenue officers searched a premises, under warrant, in Blanchardstown where they discovered 6.7 kg of herbal cannabis.

A man, aged 22, and a woman, aged 41, were arrested and are currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

A Revenue spokeswoman said: "Investigations are ongoing.

Two people were arrested after a whopping €133,000 worth of illegal drugs were found in Blanchardstown (Revenue)

"This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs. If businesses or members of the public have any information regarding drug smuggling, they can contact Revenue in confidence on Confidential Phone Number 1800 295 295."
