Two arrested as missing two-year-old found safe and well in Dublin

Missing two-year-old Aoife Haynes Murphy has been found safe and well.

The Child Rescue Ireland Alert (CRI) launched by gardai earlier this evening has now been stood down.

Two adults have been arrested in connection with the incident and are being held at a Dublin garda station.

A garda spokesperson said: "The Child Rescue Ireland Alert (CRI) has now been stood down.

"Aoife Haynes Murphy has been located safe and well in the Dublin area.

"Two adults, a man and a woman aged in their 30s, have been arrested for an offence contrary to Section 15 Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997. They are currently detained at a Garda Station in Dublin.

"An Garda Síochána is not providing any further information.

"We would like to thank the public, media and other agencies for assistance provided during this alert. No further media action is required at this time."
