Two arrested as lorry stolen from Leeds is found by police in Northamptonshire

A lorry stolen from Leeds was found by Northants Police, leading to the arrests of the two people who were in the parked vehicle.

Officers from the Northants Road Crime Team decided to investigate after they noticed that the truck was parked in a location that they deemed strange.

Multiple number plates were then found in the lorry with the Northamptonshire Police Dog Section also providing their assistance.

The incident was recounted on the official Twitter account of the Northants Road Crime Team @Northants_RCT in an 11.25pm post last night, which also included an accompanying photograph.

A spokesperson for the team said in the post: "Fantastic work by one of our team. Saw this lorry parked up in a strange location.

"2 detained and we located a load of other number plates in the cab. Vehicle is confirmed as stolen from #Leeds so both arrested. Thanks to @northantsdogs for their assistance. #opbarric #rct."
