Two arrested and charged after mass brawl at Govanhill funeral

Two men have been arrested and charged after a mass brawl at a funeral in Govanhill which left a man with stab wounds.

The suspects, aged 33 and 34, are being held in connection with the incident on Butterbiggins Road on Friday.

Emergency services raced to the street after receiving reports of a "large scale disturbance."

The man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Two men have been arrested and charged following a large scale disturbance on Butterbiggins Road around 1.15pm on Friday 30 August 2019.

"Both men, aged 33 and 34, are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday. Inquiries are ongoing."
