Two arrested after three Salvation Army clothing banks raided in Edinburgh

Two man have been arrested and charged after a spate of overnight clothing bank raids in Edinburgh.

The sick thefts took place in New Mart Road, Colinton Mains Roads and New Swanston Road, between 10.15pm on midnight on October 11.

Each of the banks are run by the Salvation Army.

The men, aged 32 and 41, are due to appear in court at a later date.

Police slammed the incidents as 'deplorable'.

Chief Inspector Scott Richardson said: “Stealing from a charity is deplorable and I would like to thank the Salvation Army for their assistance with our enquiries.

"Two men have been charged in connection with this and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
