Two arrested after teenager stabbed and slashed in face

A teenage boy was stabbed and slashed in the face during a savage attack in Fazakerley last night.

Merseyside Police were called at 9.15pm by paramedics reporting that 17-year-old male had been assaulted at the junction of Green Haven Close and Haven Road.

A 16-year-old boy has since been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent while a 44-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon .

A spokeswoman for the force said the victim was taken to hospital with a number of stab and slash wounds to his face and leg, although his injuries are not believed to life threatening.

Both suspects are in custody where they are being questioned by detectives.

This morning police remained outside a row of terraced houses on Haven Road, where a front door appeared to have been damaged.
