Two arrested after 'ramming' police with 'stolen' car during high speed motorway chase

Two people have been arrested after allegedly ramming police with a suspected stolen car.

Officers from Lancashire Police on patrol yesterday evening spotted a Renault Megane believed to have been stolen in a burglary earlier on Wednesday, March 16. The car travelled from the M65 onto the M61 into Greater Manchester Police territory before ramming a patrol car when it tried to stop the vehicle.

Police from the Special Response Team (SRT) chased the car into Atherton, before it went off-road and two people got out of the vehicle. A dog unit from Lancashire Police caught the two people involved.
