Two arrested after police called to reports of 'man with a knife' on Rusholme street

Two men have been arrested after police were called to reports of a 'man with a knife' on a Rusholme street.

Officers were called to Dickenson Road, close to the area's border with Fallowfield, just after 1am this morning (Tuesday).

They were initially alerted to reports of a man with a blade, police said.

Two men were arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray.

They remain in custody to be quizzed by detectives.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Dickenson Road, Rusholme, at about 1.05am on Monday 11 May 2021 to reports of a man with a knife.

"Two men have been arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in custody for questioning.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
