Two men have been arrested after a teenager was attacked by men in a jeep in Carlow Town.
The woman, aged in her late teens, was approached by the two men who jumped from the SUV on Dublin Street in broad daylight.
After an altercation the men fled the scene and the teenager escaped without injury.
Gardai have arrested two men in connection with the incident and the victim is assisting with enquiries.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí in Carlow have arrested two men (late 30s and 40 years) following an incident with a female (late teens) that occurred on Dublin Street, Carlow the afternoon of Sunday 7th June, 2020 at approximately 4.15p.m.
"Both men are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Carlow Garda Station.
"The female teenager is uninjured and assisting Gardaí with their enquiries."
