Two arrested after Glasgow flat disturbance as 'firearm discovered'

Two people have been arrested after police were called to an alleged disturbance at a flat in Glasgow, involving a firearm.

Emergency services raced to McNair Street in Shettleston after the alarm was raised around 4.35pm yesterday.

Police searched a vehicle in the street after reports of a disturbance before charging a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.

The pair are due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court today.

A police spokeswoman said: "Around 4.35pm on Monday, 8 June, police attended a report of a disturbance at a flat in McNair Street, Shettleston. 

"Officers attended and traced a vehicle involved nearby.

"A firearm was recovered and no one was injured.

"A 28 year-old man and a 27 year-old woman were arrested and charged in connection with this incident and are due before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 9 June 2020.

A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
