Two arrested after gardai seize cocaine and heroin worth €4million in west Dublin

Two men have been arrested after gardai seized heroin and cocaine worth an estimated €4 million in west Dublin this evening.

The drugs were seized following searches in Ballyfermot and Clondalkin, carried out by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau.

Dublin Live reports that the two men have been detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau carried out two searches in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas of Dublin this evening, Friday September 27 2019.

"During the course of the searches, Heroin and Cocaine (subject to analysis) was seized with an estimated street value of €4m.

"Two men have been arrested and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 – Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996."
