Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of another man, police said.
A man in his 50s was found dead at a property in Clare Street, Gloucester, on Wednesday afternoon by police responding to concerns for welfare.
Two men, aged 38 and 42, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody, Gloucestershire Police said.
Detective Chief Inspector John Turner, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our detectives are working hard to piece together what has happened and we appreciate that the local community may be concerned by this.
“Searches will be taking place in the area over the coming days which will result in an enhanced police presence and so people will see more police in the surrounding area.
“Anyone who has any information which they feel may be relevant to the ongoing inquiry is urged to please come forward and contact us.”
Investigating officers are appealing for information in connection with the incident and anyone who may be able to assist is asked to contact police.
