Two suspects have been arrested after authorities intercepted a parcel that arrived at Suvarnabhumi airport and found three kilogrammes of cocaine, worth 10 million baht.
The box contained one aluminium plate weighing 21.8 kilogrammes.
The delivery was made from the US to Bangkok and arrived at the airport on Aug 21.
Officials checked the suspicious item and discovered three packages containing cocaine. It weighed 3kg and had an estimated value of 10 million baht, officials said.
To arrest the recipients, the authorities on Tuesday proceeded with the delivery to its intended location on Ratchaprarop Road in Bangkok, where they arrested a Thai man who picked up the item and a Vietnamese accomplice.
The suspects had records for transnational drug smuggling, police said, adding that the Vietnamese man had entered and stayed in the kingdom illegally.
An initial investigation also suggested they both were linked to a Vietnamese network selling drugs in Thailand.
