Two arrested after child dies when bouncy castle 'blows away'

Two people have been arrested after a child died when a bouncy castle in Essex "blew away by some distance".

Emergency services were called just after 4pm on Saturday to reports that a bouncy castle, with a child inside, had blown been over 150 metres down Harlow Town Park.

Police say the two people are being held on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence.

The child, thought to be a seven-year-old girl, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge but died of serious injuries, the Harlow Star reports.

Essex Police are now working with the Health and Safety Executive as part of continuing investigations.
