Two arrested after brawl in Ashington street leaves three people injured

Two people have been arrested after a brawl involving men and women left three people injured in Ashington.

Police were called to a report of a disturbance on Woodhorn Road shortly after midnight on July 12.

It was reported that small group of men and women were fighting outside the Station Lounge.

Shortly after, a further melee is understood to have broken out near to the Rohan Kanhai pub.

Three people sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Northumbria Police launched an investigation and arrested a 20-year-old woman on suspicion of assault and a man, 20, on suspicion of dangerous driving.

They have both since been released under investigation.

Officers are now appealing for any witnesses to the assault to get in touch as they may have information to assist them with their inquiries.
