House prices in two areas of the Liverpool City Region have skyrocketed by nearly £62,000 in one year.
The bump in house prices has become particularly apparent in one area were property values have increased by up to 18% in the last year.
Research from Halifax shows house prices in Widnes and Wirral have both skyrocketed over the last year.

Average house prices in Widnes went from £189,247 to £222,876 in just one year, representing a huge 17.8% increase. This represents an increase of £33,629.
The data shows the average price for homes in Wirral has gone from £214,107 in 2020 to £276,042 in 2021. This represents an average price increase of £61,935.
Wirral and Widnes were in the UK's top 20 places where house prices increased the most, behind first place Taunton in the South West, as well as Newark and Hereford.
The top 20 areas for house price growth includes four from the North West, three from Yorkshire and the Humber, and two from Scotland, showing a rise in Northern house prices.
On average, almost every region from the Midlands up to Scotland saw house prices increase by the UK average or more during the last year.
This spread contrasts with 2020, where 11 of the areas with the greatest growth were in London and the South.
Russell Galley, Managing Director, Halifax, said: “This is perhaps most clearly shown in the UK’s capital. It is rare that no London boroughs appear amongst the areas of highest house price growth but that is the case in 2021.
"This shift echoes what we have seen from home buyers over the last year – less focus on major cities and more demand in the suburbs and further afield.”
