Two airlifted to hospital after crash on A482 in Carmarthenshire

Two people were injured in a crash involving two vehicles on the A482 between Cwmann and Harford in Carmarthenshire on Tuesday.

The Welsh Ambulance Service was called to the incident at 12.48pm and the road was closed until around 5pm.

An air ambulance landed at the scene and two casualties were flown to Morriston Hospital in Swansea . The nature of their injuries is not known.

Dyfed-Powys Police also attended the scene to direct traffic while the two vehicles were recovered.

The crash affected traffic travelling between Lampeter and Pumsaint.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman said on Tuesday: “We were called today at approximately 12.48pm to reports of a road traffic collision on the A482 from Cwmann to Harford. We responded with one emergency ambulance and the crew were supported by Wales Air Ambulance. Two patients are being transported to Morriston Hospital, Swansea.”

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision between two vehicles on the A482 at around 1pm to which land and air ambulances were called. The road remained closed while recovery of the vehicles took place."
