Two air ambulances seen landing on children's park

Two air ambulances were seen landing on a children's park.

There was confusion on Sunday afternoon as a helicopter was seen landing at Ilchester Park in Birkenhead at around 4pm. It was followed shortly by a second air ambulance.

Police were also seen in the area but the roads remained open and no cordon was put in place. The ECHO attended the residential street on Sunday afternoon and people were wondering what had happened.

Crowds watched on from the field and from their windows as emergency services left the scene in a police vehicle only to return shortly after. The air ambulances and police left the scene just after 5.30pm.

The ECHO spoke to Merseyside Police's Force Incident Manager who confirmed patrols were in the area and they were responding to a "concern for welfare".
