Two additional courts to be set up in Lucknow Development Authority

LUCKNOW: Two additional courts will be set up in Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) for speedy disposal of cases of illegal construction and plotting.

The decision was taken after it was found that 4,624 litigations were filed since 2018, out of which 3,061 cases are still pending. The LDA said that about 1,500 cases are pending for more than one year.

Currently, there are two courts at Lalbagh for hearing LDA related cases.

On Wednesday, LDA VC Indramani Tripathi instructed executive engineer O P Mishra, to set up two additional courts within a week at Lalbagh office. He said that since zone one has the maximum number of pending cases, the court should be in session every day to clear the pendency, while for other zones the court could work for three days a week. The VC has set a target to resolve 1,500 cases in the next two months.
