Two active Dolphins listed as participants in 40-yard dash tournament

The summer months of the NFL calendar can be a little dull. But thanks to the upcoming 40-yard dash competition, there’s a little bit of excitement in the air as we prepare to turn the calendar to June. The tournament, which is being hosted by 40 Yards of Gold and features a plethora of NFL players — all looking to prove themselves the fastest player on turn.

There have been two additions to the field that will have notable interest to Miami Dolphins fans. The latest slate of participants features two current Dolphins in addition to former top pick Ted Ginn Jr.

Both cornerback Xavien Howard and linebacker Jerome Baker hold a spot on the defensive roster — could we possibly see one blaze their way to victory?

Baker, a 3rd-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, ran a 4.53s 40-time at the 2018 NFL Combine. Howard, a 2nd-round pick back in the 2016 NFL Draft, blazed a 4.41s time — which could feasibly put him into contention for a top finish at the event.

The race will take place on June 29th, so look for more details on the event — and perhaps even an additional Dolphins participant — in the coming weeks.
