Two 22-year-old men injured after Volkswagen truck crashes in Aberdeenshire

Two men have been rushed to hospital after a horror one-vehicle crash on the A97.

Emergency services were called to the road near Westertown Farm between Huntly and Aberchirder last night at about 9.30pm.

A white Volkswagen Amarok truck was travelling south when it crashed.

The 22-year-old male driver and 22-year-old male passenger were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The severity of their injuries are not known at this time.

Police closed the road for a few hours last night as collision investigators conducted enquiries at the scene.

Officers are now appealing for information as they investigate the incident further.

Sergeant Steve Manson said: “We are continuing our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

"We are particularly interested in any motorists with dash cams, perhaps you captured the image of the truck before the crash, if you have any information, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3806 of 12 July, 2021.
