Twitter was thrilled for Josh Gordon following his reinstatement to NFL

The NFL announced on Friday that the league will be reinstating New England Patriots receiver Josh Gordon. He has been serving an indefinite suspension for most of the last four seasons after repeated violations of the NFL substance abuse policies. He was placed back on suspension in December 2018 in his first season with the Patriots after he violated the terms of his previous reinstatement.

“We are all rooting for Josh to succeed, both personally and professionally,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement on Friday. “Everyone shares in that hope and will continue to support him to every extent possible. But as Josh acknowledged, ultimately his success is up to him.”

Twitter had a strong and positive response for Gordon, who has spoken openly about dealing with addiction and mental health problems which have led to his suspensions. There was a resounding sense of support for the hugely talented wideout.
