The super moon that appeared over in the capital's skies early this morning stunned Dubliners with pictures of the rare event flooding social media.
The spectacular sight was visible from 12.13am and will also make another appearance over the country tonight.
It couldn't have happened at a better time with the weather improving and clear skies forecast for last night and tonight.

Unfortunately the rarer blood moon was not visible over Dublin and Irish skies as it could only be seen in certain parts of the world.
However, there are plenty of live streams for those of us who won't see the blood moon in the flesh, including the Griffith Observatory in LA.
