Twitter users 'could be charged £2 a month to undo tweets under new subscription plan'

Twitter is planning a subscription service where users can pay to undo their tweets, according to reports.

The social media giants could charge £2-per-month for the feature, a leak claims.

The service, reportedly called Twitter Blue, could totally change the face of the platform for good, leaving many users split.

Some exclusive new features are set to be rolled out, it has been claimed, including an 'Undo Send' button to give people a second chance to consider whether what their posting to the world is a good idea or not.

Hong Kong-based app researcher Jane Manchun Wong says plans are already in place and posted proof of possible changes.

Twitter have so far declined to comment about suggestions Twitter Blue is in development.

But the tipster says the feature is already being tested by the tech company.

She suggests Twitter Blue may also include another feature called Collections, a function which will let users 'save and organise favourite tweets'.

Mrs Wong posted a demo to show what could be ahead.

It shows the researcher composing a tweet as normal before pressing the blue 'tweet' button.

A five-second countdown timer then starts, giving the user the chance to select 'Undo'.

It is not known whether the tweet will then be saved in drafts so it can be edited later.

There are other suggestions that the firm are working on reducing verbal abuse on the platform after pressure was heaped on social media bosses.

The feature prompts Twitter users to review their 'potentially harmful or offensive' replies before posting.

That has been given the thumbs up, but the idea of an Undo Send option seems to have split social media users.

Some were annoyed a the prospect of delay before their tweets actually send.

Others say Twitter's big sell is that once you hit send there's no going back.

One users said: "I just want the edit button like every other platform. I don't want a dumb undo tweet notification every time I tweet ... that's not solving anything and becomes a nuisance."

Another grumbled: "I don't see the point. It seems overly complicated."

Others said they won't pay for added extras.

One posted: "I think I would rather be happier with my $2.99/month thanks all the same twitter."
