Gavin Bazunu: Twitter users are all saying the same thing about young goalkeeper's incredible performance

There were party scenes across Ireland after Gavin Bazunu's phenomenal performance last night.

The 19-year-old footballer from Firhouse was crowned the Man of the Match after Ireland faced off Serbia in a tense 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifier match that ended in a 1-1 draw.

The young goalkeeper was dubbed the "yellow brick wall" after he made a string of top-class saves.

Bazunu said last night: "It was brilliant.

"I had a lot to do and I was happy to be able to make a few saves in the game. I was delighted we were able to come out with a result in the end because I thought the lads deserved it, we put in a really good performance."

Fans took to social media to praise the Dubliner after the thrilling performance.

One person said: "GIVE GAVIN BAZUNU THE FREEDOM OF THE COUNTRY."

Another person said: "Gavin Bazunu is not a goalkeeper. He’s a force field."

A third person added: "Not to get too carried away but I think Gavin Bazunu might be the greatest goalkeeper in the history of the game."

Another person said: "Gavin Bazunu will never have to buy a pint again. What a talent."
