Twitter's Dorsey: Trump Tweets 'Really Important'

Twitter (TWTR) CEO Jack Dorsey thinks President Donald Trump's tweets are "really important" because they push "conversations out in the open rather than behind closed doors," according to The Wrap News. (Dorsey made the remarks during an interview with "Sunday Today" host Willie Geist, which airs this weekend.)

"I believe it's really important to hear directly from our leadership. And I believe it's really important to hold them accountable," Dorsey told Geist, adding, "So if we're all to suddenly take these platforms away, where does it go? What happens? It goes in the dark. And I just don't think that's good for anyone."

President Trump has 29 million followers on the social media platform and uses it on a regular basis to mock critics, poke fun at rivals and spread his administration's talking points.

Jim Cramer and the AAP team are discussing fallout from first-quarter earnings from Apple AAPL and Facebook FB and how to play the big tech names. Get his insights or analysis with a free trial subscription to Action Alerts Plus.
