Twitter reacts to Titans’ selection of Hawaii QB Cole McDonald

The Tennessee Titans needed to bring some competition at backup quarterback for Logan Woodside ahead of the season, and they addressed the need in the seventh round.

The team utilized the No. 224 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to select former Hawaii quarterback, Cole McDonald.

The 6-4, 235-pound signal-caller, who ran a 4.58 at the combine and threw for an 8,000 combined passing yards in his last two seasons of college football, will certainly make the backup quarterback battle interesting.

+ NFL size at 6’-3” and 215 lbs
+ Great athlete, ran 4.58 with a 36” vert and 121” broad
+ GUNSLINGER — zero fear in his game, constantly in attack mode
+ 33 TDs this year, 36 the year before, very productive
+ Able to make plays out of structure

With Logan Woodside being the only quarterback on the roster aside from starter Ryan Tannehill, McDonald is going to have a chance to compete for the backup job in Nashville.
