Twitter reacts to the Browns signing Kareem Hunt

The Cleveland Browns snapped the cold period of the NFL offseason news cycle with a boulder through the ice. Signing a lightning rod of a player in running back Kareem Hunt will do that.

Twitter reacted swiftly and vociferously, as only reactionary social media can. And most of the reaction is decidedly against the move.

 

I think you should get second chances for a lot of things, hitting women isn’t one of them and I’m not sorry for that opinion.

If you think that an NFL player (who is 2X-3X the size of a woman) who strikes a woman deserves another chance, I ain’t got shit to say to you.

We always knew Kareem Hunt was going to get a second chance somewhere in the #NFL and Cleveland seems like the best landing spot for him as a person. He is a Willoughby, Ohio native and went to college at Toledo. He should have a good support system there in northern Ohio.

I understand giving someone a second chance, especially given Dorsey's previous relationship with him, but Nick Chubb exists and is on your roster. I don't understand the Browns being the team to take this risk.

Hunt to the Browns makes little sense for either side. Chubb is the workhorse, Duke Jr. was extended. Hunt has no path to a big role (and likely would've had other offers), barring a Chubb injury. Weird.
