Twitter reacts to potential WR Anthony Miller trade by Bears

Not that it’ll come as a surprise to many, but the Chicago Bears have been having trade discussions with a number of teams about former second-round wide receiver Anthony Miller, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Considering Miller’s future with the Bears has been in jeopardy since the 2020 season came to an abrupt end in the wild card playoffs, it would actually be a plus if Chicago were to get some kind of compensation for Miller rather than release him, which

The problem with Miller hasn’t been his talent — he’s got plenty of potential. But he’s failed to live up expectations, most recently when he was supplanted by fifth-round rookie Darnell Mooney in 2020.

Miller’s last game as a Bear was one fans would like to forget, as he got ejected for throwing a punch at New Orleans Saints safety CJ Gardner-Johnson, something Miller had been warned about in the days leading up to the game. In many ways, the ejection felt like the final straw — and the final game for Miller in a Bears uniform.

Twitter had plenty of reaction to the news of the Bears discussing trading Miller with a number of teams around the league. For the most part, the consensus was the same — Miller had a ton of potential, but he failed to live up to expectations in Chicago, and a fresh start could be what’s best for both sides.
