Max Holloway successfully defended his featherweight title for a third time on Saturday when he beat Frankie Edgar in the UFC 240 headliner.
Holloway (21-4 MMA, 17-4 UFC) made his return to 145 pounds after a failed bid at lightweight gold earlier this year with a unanimous decision victory over Edgar (23-7-1 MMA, 17-7-1 UFC) in the pay-per-view main event, which went down at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Story of R3, for me, was Holloway's takedown defense. Edgar's corner was imploring him to finish his shots, and he just couldn't get Holloway down. Finally converted one at the end of the round, but Holloway has won that battle. 29-28 Holloway.
