Cody Garbrandt’s flyweight debut was spoiled on Saturday as he fell short against Kai Kara-France in his divisional debut at UFC 269.

Kara-France (23-9 MMA, 6-2 UFC) derailed Garbrandt’s (12-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) plan for a career reinvention when he scored a first-round TKO win in the main card matchup, which took place at T-mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
