Barry McGuigan's interview on The Tommy Tiernan Show went down a hit on social media tonight - with TV viewers captivated by the legendary former boxer's appearance.
The former world champion's daughter Danika tragically passed away in 2019 at the age of 33 after battling cancer and McGuigan has always spoken honestly about the pain of losing a child.
Viewers were emotional watching tonight's interview as the Belfast hero spoke to Tiernan on the popular RTE show.
One Twitter user said: "So heartbreaking watching Barry McGuigan speaking about the loss of his daughter. The loss of a child is something no parent can ever really recover from. #Tommy"
Another remarked: "As Barry McGuigan spoke about losing his beloved daughter, Tommy Tiernan just put on a masterclass of interviewing by saying absolutely nothing. #TommyTiernanShow"
While another tweeted: "Isn't he so brave to sit there and talk so honestly about something so unbelievably painful as losing a child. Didn't think I could love Barry McGuigan more. Wrong again! #legend #TommyTiernanShow"
Another viewer chimed in: "Not a sports fan. And particularly dislike boxing but Barry McGuigan has always come across as someone who is intuitively intelligent and wise and compassionate. Really enjoyed him #TommyTiernanShow"

Speaking on the Late Late Show this time last year, McGuigan also opened up about the loss.
He told Ryan Tubridy: "I know there are loads of parents who have lost their children and I know how devastating that is, how hard it is. My heart goes out to all of them.
"She was such an important part of our lives in everything, even my four grandchildren - my latest grandchild is Mila Nika McGuigan.
"And every time I look at them I think of her and she loved those kids. She loved Tadhg, who is my first grandchild, who she loved and spent so much time with.
"She was such a family person."
