Twitter reacts to Falcons drafting OL Matthew Bergeron

When the night began, the Falcons held the 44th overall pick in the second round, but after a trade with the Colts, Atlanta drafted Syracuse’s Matthew Bergeron at pick No. 38.

Bergeron is a pass-blocking offensive lineman who is expected to move to left guard for the Falcons. While it definitely isn’t a flashy selection, left guard is an area that has been a thorn in the team’s side for far too long. Atlanta selected Texas running back Bijan Robinson last night, so it makes sense to continue to build the offensive line.

Per usual, Falcons fans were divided about the pick on Twitter.

Wasn’t big on Myles Murphy but I remember him destroying Bergeron. Hopefully it’s to play LG cause he’s definitely an upgrade in run blocking over mayfield
